Mir Hazar Khan Khoso appointed as caretaker PM of pakistan..

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)after two and a half hours of long deliberations finally gave its verdict in favour of the government nominee Justice (retired) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso from Balochistan, who now stands appointed as caretaker PM, Geo News reported.

Earlier reports said that the second day decisive meeting for the selection of a caretaker prime minister from the list of four nominees is underway here.

Sources said Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retired) Fakhruddin G. Ibrahim is in the chair, while the four members representing the four provinces attending the meeting.

They are member Punjab Justice (retired) Riaz Kiyani‚ Member Khyder Pakhtunkhwa Justice (retired) Shahzad Akbar Khan‚ Member Balochistan Justice (retired) Fazl-ur-Rehman and Member Sindh Justice (retired) Roshan Essani.

The parliamentary committee failing to hammer out a consensus even after three consecutive days of vigorous discussions forwarded the names of the four nominees--Dr. Ishrat Hussain and Justice (retired) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso nominated by the government, while the other two proposed by the Leader of Opposition—Justice (retired) Nasir Aslam Zahid and Rasool Bakhsh Paleejo for a final decision of the Commission, which could either be unanimous or by majority vote is yet to be seen.

The matter has been referred to ECP under the relevant provisions of the Constitution‚ it has to make a decision today.

Earlier on arrival at the Election Commission, talking to media member Sindh Roshan Essani said that all the ECP members are respectable, the decision will be unanimous of by majority vote, nothing could be said presently. He said that as he was not present in the meeting yesterday the question of his participation in the consultation didn’t arise.

Meanwhile, Muslim League-N has submitted in writing its objections relating to the government nominees in ECP. The objections submitted by ML-N’s Tariq Fazal Chaudhry would also come under consideration of the ECP meeting today.
