Karachi: Polio drive in District Central from 25th

KARACHI: A three-day polio vaccination drive in District Central will begin on March 25 amid heightened security to administer oral drops to some 120,000 children, it was announced on Thursday.

The decision was taken at a meeting of health and security officials with Deputy Commissioner (Central) Dr Saif-ur-Rehman in the chair.

In addition to health officials from the defunct Liaquatabad, North Nazimabad, New Karachi and Gulberg towns, SSP, SPs and Colonel Incharge of Rangers attended the meeting.

Dr Saif-ur-Rehman told The News after the meeting that the vaccination drive was called “extended short interval additional dose”, which would be conducted from March 25 to 28.
